BIOGRAPHY

Eric Ashby is on a God-given journey.

His Purpose

To reach the lost, touch the hurting and inspire faith and hope.

His Weapons

A soothing, melodious voice that enchants the heart and soul of

all who listen.

An obedient spirit to write and produce God inspired songs and lyrics.

His Destiny

To minister the Word of God to the nations.

Eric Ashby is a native of Missouri but grew up in Chicago, IL. The culture of the town molded him into the worshiper he is today. He credits his unique sound to such influences as Commissioned, Fred Hammond, Brian McKnight and Aaron Sledge.

With roots in the church, Eric knew of the call on his life but instead steered toward R&B. During college he majored in theater and performing arts. He was embraced by a group of guys who formed the R&B group “Mission”. Their campus wide success soon spread to the Midwest. The group later became a duo called “Truth”. This duo became headliners for major club performances, sporting events and concerts. The path to success seemed clear.

However, while on the rise, God began to deal with Eric’s heart. Just like the prodigal son, Eric returned to his Christian roots in Chicago. There he served as a member of the praise team. In this season, God cultivated and equipped him for the anointing upon his life. .After two years, Eric and his wife Tanesha relocated to Kansas City, Missouri to serve under the pastoral leadership of his parents, Eric and Winifred Ashby.

His journey continued. While serving as Minister of Music for Charity Church, Eric’s gift for writing emerged. Influenced by his mentors, Eric’s diverse musical appetite led him to accept the challenge to experiment in multiple genres. He has successfully delved into pop, country, urban and contemporary Christian avenues – a path that he continues.

In 2014, Eric received his first national song placement. He was co-writer for the song “Do A Work” – released by national Gospel artist James Fortune on the “Live Through It” album. Since then, Eric has gone on to write and collaborate on many projects from local artists to major international companies. He is a strong advocate for cancer awareness and has partnered with National Sales Directors of Mary Kay Cosmetics, Susan G. Komen KC and the American Cancer Society. Eric helps to promote cancer awareness through his anthem, “You Look Better in PINK”.

Now, on the eve of his much anticipated album release, Eric’s prayer is that his lyrics will bring life and restoration to all that hear. His songs, breathed by God, will reveal his true heart and be a voice of inspiration to the nations.
